I think Esperanza felt when boys told her they loved her was scared and traumatized. She hears the voice in her head over and over again. I think she was vbery scared when this happened to her.
When the boys told eaperanza that they love her i think that esperanze felt flatterd becuase no one other then her family let alone a boy had ever said that to her.

Esperanza felt scared and upset and didn't believe the boys when they said "I love you". She was hopeing and praying that if they truly "loved" her they would have stoped and let her go.
Jessica Powers--I belive when boys told Esperanza told her they loved her, that she felt that she was exited because Esperanza dosnt have alot of friends and now boys like her so shes starting to meet new people and is happy the boys have an intrest in her(just like she has an intrest in makeing friends)

I think Esperanza felt overwhelmed by this.Espereranza never had this happen to her before this incident.
